Recovering After Hurricane Melissa

Devastation Struck  On October 28, 2025 , Jamaica experienced the most devastating Hurricane known as Melissa. As a teenager, I experienced Ivan but I was now ready to face a new Category 5 contender known as Melissa. Her only counterpart I knew about was " Wild Gilbert " which crippled the island in 1988.  When I heard that it would severely impact the Western part of the island , I went on an online prayer vigil on October 27, 2025 and I repented on behalf of my household. Melissa visited my home at approximately 1:30 pm in the afternoon on October 28 in all her rage and fury. She tried to take the awnings on the verandah but my family and I wrestled with her to lose her hold. By the grace of God when she passed, we escaped with only a pear tree uprooted and 1 of the awnings falling off which we were able to secure. There was a bit of water that came in one of the rooms but to God be the glory, everything else was in tact. It will be an experience that my daughter and I ...

A Special Day at Logos Hope: Exploring the World’s Largest Floating Book Fair with My Daughter

Some days just stay with you forever, and this was definitely one of them. My daughter and I had the amazing opportunity to explore Logos Hope , the world’s largest floating book fair , and it was an awesome adventure.  From the moment we entered the premises, we were filled with excitement. Everywhere we turned, there were books: books full of adventure, knowledge, and stories waiting to inspire us. Walking through the ship felt like stepping into a library the size of a small city , floating on the sea. The best part? Experiencing it all with my daughter. Watching her discover new stories and treasures reminded me how important it is to make memories while nurturing a love for reading and learning . Moments like these are priceless. We also liked the fact that there were many Faith based books to choose from.  Logos Hope is more than just a bookstore on the water. It’s a place that spreads hope and knowledge to communities around the world through volunteering, educatio...

Children Are a Blessing: Finding Strength in Motherhood

I’m learning that motherhood isn’t always easy. Some days are long and exhausting, filled with endless tasks and sleepless nights that test your patience. There are moments when you feel completely overwhelmed, and it’s okay to admit that. The weight of responsibility can feel heavy and the challenges can seem never ending. But in the middle of it all, God reminds me of one unchanging truth: children are a blessing from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). Every little smile, every laugh, even the lessons learned through tears are gifts meant to enrich our lives and shape our hearts. When the days feel long and my energy is low, I try to pause and reflect: God entrusted me with this precious life because He believes in my strength and love. My child isn’t just my responsibility, she's my joy, my purpose, and a constant reminder of God’s goodness. So whether it’s a day filled with chaos or quiet moments of connection, I hold on to this truth. Motherhood may be challenging, but it is also a ...

My Self-Care Routine: How I Stay Balanced and Happy

I am currently in a season of self discovery and self care. I often times tend to feel burn out and frustrated and then the Lord had to remind me that it is important for me to take care of my body.  Our bodies are God's temple and so we must take care of it. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 states that,  " Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." In this new year, I am paying it forward by taking care of myself in every way. I am focusing on my Mental, Spiritual and Physical health .  I am learning that if I don't love myself then I cannot show love and be my brother's keeper.  Here are some ways that you can take of your Mental and Spiritual Health: You can read the Word daily and remind yourself about who God says you are  You can pray to God daily and include Him in all areas of your life and before you make har...
