Thankfulness during the Pandemic

Gratitude We are officially in the month of December. I have survived 11 months of 2020 and God has been faithful.  I am thankful for my health, my job, my family, my daughter and I could go on and on.  We often take the little things for granted but they matter most to God.  He is the source of all that we have. Once we learn to be content, we will never feel as if we are lacking anything.  I will leave you with these scriptures: Hebrews 13:5 - Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Philippians 4:19-  And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.  Psalm 37: 3-5 - Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this. Be encouraged and know that God is fighting your battles. Your breakthrough is on the ...

Life During the Pandemic

I celebrated my 30th birthday in March two days after the official case of COVID-19 was announced in Jamaica. In this picture you will see a woman that has been through a lot.  I weighed 1 pound at birth and I lost my twin sister. She only lived for a few hours. I am literally a miracle. From inception, God had a plan for my life.  I am now walking in my purpose and my faith keeps growing in the Lord. The devil tried to take my life when I was 23 years old. I was attacked by an armed robber who was waiting for me in my mother's garden as I usually arrived home at midnight. However, the Holy Spirit warned me before I entered the premises that there was danger and that's how I moved in caution.    I am writing this to tell you that God has a purpose for your life and He is not done with you. Even in this difficult time, learn to trust Him knowing that He will never leave you nor forsake you. He has greater things in store for you.  I will leave you wit...

Travelling & Teaching in Cali, Colombia

In 2013, I had the opportunity to teach English at a University in Cali, Colombia.  Cali, Colombia is known as the city of Salsa. Jamaicans love Salsa. I had a blast learning Salsa Choke and learning the various dance moves. This was my first time travelling and the experience was really exciting. It is an experience  that I will never forget.  I realized that Colombians and Jamaicans have a lot in common. We share the love for sports especially Track & Field and Football, we love to socialize and meet new people, our personalities are warm and friendly, we have a good taste in fashion and most of all we love great tasting food.  Learning a second language created the opportunities for me to travel and teach and to appreciate another culture. It also allowed me to maintain a lifelong friendship with great people.  If you would like to meet and interact with Colombians and practice your Spanish, then you can check out this group I created known as...

God Is Still In Control

Don't Give Up We are now in the month of October and then it will be December. Then it will be 2021. Time really passes by quickly.  👀 This year has been filled with its ups and downs. However, you can still accomplish anything that you set your mind to.  Remember that God is still in control and He never fails. His timing is perfect. 🙏 For the parents that are about to start Virtual school with your children, just know that you will get through this. You overcame all of the other hardships in your life. You will definitely conquer this journey. This will be a completely new experience for me as my daughter will be starting Kindergarten. 😶 My baby is growing up.  Just remember that there is a first time for every thing- relax and don't be too hard on yourself. We have to work together with the teachers and be there for our children to encourage them in this new space of le...

Trust God in All Areas of Your Life

LEAVING THE CORPORATE WORLD I n 2019, the Holy spirit was leading me to start my journey of entrepreneurship. This happened after I resigned from a job in the Corporate world. Without consulting God, I decided to move to Kingston because the salary was quite appealing. I took the risk to leave my daughter who was 18 months at the time. I felt uneasy during the entire process of moving to Kingston but I didn’t take heed to my feeling of uneasiness.  I was at the Corporate job for only 3 weeks and nothing was going right. After I resigned, I was wondering what I would do next. During this time, I was still Freelancing on Upwork and also working with another client who I met on Upwork.   JESUS IS MY PROVIDER I continued to tithe and God was my provider throughout the journey. I didn’t lack as all my needs were taken care of. In November 2019, I saw an open position for a Customer Service position. It was an opportunity for me to work remotely. I had always w...

God is Faithful

REMEMBERING THE PAST In 2016, I was not yet baptized but I always believed in God. I was a hopeless case when I found out that I was pregnant; wondering if I will ever make it as a single mother. 😓 I was beating myself up about the decision I made. I wasn't ready mentally for this new season of my life. Postpartum took a toll on me in the first few weeks after giving birth in 2017. I wanted to end my life and even my child’s life. I had to cry out to God for him to heal me as I was mentally broken and overwhelmed. I felt alone and worthless and I kept wondering why me?   However, fast forward to 2020 and I am living my life according to God’s will. Everything is now falling into place. His ways are better than my ways. Motherhood is a part of my purpose. Since the birth of my daughter, there has been a shift in my life. I got baptized in 2018, after I decided that there was nothing left in the world for me to rely on and I knew that God was always with me. 💗 He w...

Top Rated Freelancer on Upwork

I was awarded the "Top Rated" badge on Upwork in May 2020. This platform has really opened up a lot of doors for me. It has allowed me to work with the best clients across the world.  This is something that I wouldn't have been able to do with a regular 9-5 job. My "Top Rated" badge was earned based on great work ethic, consistency, dedication, great communication and persistence.  Although the platform is seen as competitive, it opens up opportunities for persons who are willing to go the extra mile. Freelancing on Upwork has given me the opportunity to make an additional income, utilize my skills and gives me the flexibility to work remotely.  We all have God-given skills and talents that we can use to earn an extra income. If you dig deep, you will find it. If you would like to know how to get started on Upwork or with me then you can leave a comment below.
