Trust God in All Areas of Your Life

LEAVING THE CORPORATE WORLD

In 2019, the Holy spirit was leading me to start my journey of entrepreneurship. This happened after I resigned from a job in the Corporate world. Without consulting God, I decided to move to Kingston because the salary was quite appealing. I took the risk to leave my daughter who was 18 months at the time.

I felt uneasy during the entire process of moving to Kingston but I didn’t take heed to my feeling of uneasiness. I was at the Corporate job for only 3 weeks and nothing was going right.

After I resigned, I was wondering what I would do next. During this time, I was still Freelancing on Upwork and also working with another client who I met on Upwork.

JESUS IS MY PROVIDER

I continued to tithe and God was my provider throughout the journey. I didn’t lack as all my needs were taken care of. In November 2019, I saw an open position for a Customer Service position. It was an opportunity for me to work remotely. I had always wanted to have a stay at home job where I would have time to raise my daughter as the toddler years were the critical years.

God answered my prayers when he opened that door for me. When people asked me what I was doing, I told them I worked from home. They would look at me weird as at the time this was not the new normal especially in Jamaica.

BENEFITS OF WORKING FROM HOME

Working from home takes a lot of discipline and organization. It wasn’t easy at first but with God’s grace I managed to overcome all obstacles. During the period of working from home, I was able to potty-train my daughter, I was able to teach her how to write and now I am teaching her how to read.

She is getting better in Spanish as my goal is for her to be bilingual. We have developed a stronger bond and I am getting to understand more about her unique personality as God continues to mold and shape her.

BE ENCOURAGED

I am writing this to encourage you today that you may not understand your situation currently but know that God is working out all things for your good as the scripture says in Romans 8:28. At the time, I wanted to go back out into the office to work but God knew that a pandemic would occur and he was preparing me for this season that we are in.

Your situation may be different, you may be out of a job now but God wants you to trust Him in this time knowing that He will be your Provider, Way maker and Miracle worker. It is up to you to acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path.

The Roller Coaster Ride of Breastfeeding | Breastfeeding Journey| How to stop breastfeeding

There are a lot of mothers out there that would love to breastfeed their child. Breastfeeding is really a roller coaster ride. No one prepares you for it and shows you how to stop doing it. I am going to be sharing a little about my breastfeeding journey and how I eventually stopped breastfeeding. GOT MILK? When I gave birth to my daughter in 2017, no one prepared me for the journey that I would endure. My milk ducts were totally dried up and the nurses were telling me that I MUST breastfeed my daughter. However, after showing them all of my attempts to extract milk, they finally gave in and offered to give her some formula. I thought they would make her starve to death due to their strict breast feeding policy. I was finally able to breastfeed after 5 days. My flow of milk was also very slow and I had no choice but to supplement breastfeeding with formula. She was constantly crying after she was breastfed and I knew she was still hungry. When I left the hospital, the nurses had ...

If you're looking to make the most of the new year, the first step is to take some time to reflect on the past year and think about the lessons you have learnt and also remember to celebrate your wins.   What did you achieve? What goals did you set but not quite reach? What could you have done differently? Taking the time to consider these questions will give you a better sense of what you want to focus on for 2023. Once you've reflected on the past year, you can start making plans for the year ahead and ask the Lord to guide your steps and help you to be disciplined and consistent.
