Travelling & Teaching in Cali, Colombia

In 2013, I had the opportunity to teach English at a University in Cali, Colombia. Cali, Colombia is known as the city of Salsa. Jamaicans love Salsa. I had a blast learning Salsa Choke and learning the various dance moves.

This was my first time travelling and the experience was really exciting. It is an experience  that I will never forget.

I realized that Colombians and Jamaicans have a lot in common. We share the love for sports especially Track & Field and Football, we love to socialize and meet new people, our personalities are warm and friendly, we have a good taste in fashion and most of all we love great tasting food.

Learning a second language created the opportunities for me to travel and teach and to appreciate another culture. It also allowed me to maintain a lifelong friendship with great people.

If you would like to meet and interact with Colombians and practice your Spanish, then you can check out this group I created known as  Los Caleños y Los JamaicanosIt was created to stimulate interest in both the Spanish & English Language.

You can also check out my book on Amazon to learn more about my awesome experience: Adventures in Cali, Colombia

Reset Your Year: Reflect, Recharge & Refocus for the Rest of 2025

God has been faithful. We are in a new year. We have overcome the worst and are ready to prepare for a new season.  Keep focusing on the new things that are coming to you. Keep hopeful knowing that God is the same as yesterday, today and forevermore. He will make a way for you where there seems to be no way. Continue to trust as your Provider, Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promiser Keeper. He won't fail you. Be encouraged and don't keep remembering the past but know that He is doing a new thing according to Isaiah 43:19 - Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

The Roller Coaster Ride of Breastfeeding | Breastfeeding Journey| How to stop breastfeeding

There are a lot of mothers out there that would love to breastfeed their child. Breastfeeding is really a roller coaster ride. No one prepares you for it and shows you how to stop doing it. I am going to be sharing a little about my breastfeeding journey and how I eventually stopped breastfeeding. GOT MILK? When I gave birth to my daughter in 2017, no one prepared me for the journey that I would endure. My milk ducts were totally dried up and the nurses were telling me that I MUST breastfeed my daughter. However, after showing them all of my attempts to extract milk, they finally gave in and offered to give her some formula . I thought they would make her starve to death due to their strict breast feeding policy. I was finally able to breastfeed after 5 days. My flow of milk was also very slow and I had no choice but to supplement breastfeeding with formula. She was constantly crying after she was breastfed and I knew she was still hungry. When I left the hospital, the nurses had...
